Abstinence

 

Simply not having sex is one both the most reliable and unreliable form of birth control all at once. While it is true that if one refrains from sexual intercourse there is little chance of pregnancy (although even sperm around the outside of the vaginal area can create a risk), the problem is that when it comes to sex…things have a way of escalating beyond what one originally intended. Therefore, many people do not advocate relying solely on this strategy to avoid pregnancy.
