Complications

A common recurring theme noted in all surgical procedures is that; reduced invasiveness and minimized trauma to tissue results in less pain and fewer complications. It appears that this basic law applies also to vasectomy since so far there have been no complications noted in Pro-Vas patients. Undoubtedly Pro-Vas Occlusion will eventually be associated with the same complications found with traditional vasectomy, notably; infection, hematoma, pain and sperm granuloma. However it is reasonable to expect a lower incidence of all these complications since less dissection is required, no cutting of the vas is required and the procedure is faster and easier.

Note that at this time the effectiveness of using the Pro-Vas applier for permanent male sterilization has not been evaluated in comparison to standard vasectomy procedures.
