PRO-VAS OCCLUSION

PRO-VAS OCCLUSION

Pro-Vas Occlusion takes No-Scalpel Vasectomy to the next level. No-Scalpel Vasectomy revolutionized the process of accessing the vas deferens in an elegantly efficient fashion. However it did not address the methods by which the vas deferens are occluded. Various vas occlusion techniques have evolved on their own but nearly all include some aspect of excising a section of vas deferens, cauterizing (burning) the ends of the stumps and ligating (tying or clamping) one or both stumps on each side using either sutures or stationary metal clips.
While the No-Scalpel Vasectomy has done much to reduce scrotal incision infection and bleeding (which can lead to hematoma), it did not provide any value in reducing other complications associated with vasectomy or to improve the chances of success in reversing vasectomy.
In spite of the fact that the advent of the No-Scalpel Vasectomy did not reduce the level of trauma imposed on the vas deferens itself, it has been viewed by men considering vasectomy as a big step forward. Many more men have been comfortable choosing vasectomy knowing that their surgeon will not be taking a knife to their scrotum.

Now men can choose Pro-Vas Occlusion knowing that there will be no knives, no scissors and no red-hot cautery devices.

The effectiveness of using the Pro-Vas applier for permanent male sterilization has not been evaluated in comparison to standard vasectomy procedures.
